Welcome, Principal Alexander
Greetings Staff, Parents and Community Partners of Chapel Hill Middle School,
My name is Mr. Michael Alexander, the new Principal at Chapel Hill Middle School. It is my privilege and honor to join DeKalb County School District and the Chapel Hill Middle School community.
I spent the past thirteen years in the District of Columbia Public School System. During my tenure in DCPS, I served as a teacher, dean of students, assistant principal, resident principal and principal. I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning and growing with our students as well as working with our professional staff and you, Chapel Hill Middle School parents and community members.
My main goal is to ensure that every student is provided the highest quality of education possible in a safe and supportive learning environment. Working together as a team with our staff, parents, and community partners, I am committed to helping each student achieve their very best. Every student is valued and worthy of our best effort.
In order to accomplish this goal, I have developed a philosophical phrase: The 4 A’s to Success. These are: Academics, Attendance, Attitude, and Activities. I will be spending a considerable amount of time discussing and implementing these concepts into what we are already doing at Chapel Hill Middle School. I sincerely believe that by adhering to the basic ideas embedded in these four concepts, our students will become well-rounded individuals and ready for the next phase: high school, college, and careers. When we—as adults and role models—also adhere to these ideas, our students will better see the value of these concepts.
I am very passionate about the work that we are about to embark on. I hope each of you have been enjoying the summer, and are now looking forward to a great school year. The year will be busy, exciting, and hopefully very rewarding for each student. We want you to join us in making this the very best experience for your children.
Being informed will help. Throughout the year our school website, periodic calendars, and newsletters, etc. will attempt to provide you with the most current information available. However, many times you will have questions. Please do not hesitate to contact me at Michael_Alexander@dekalbschoolsga.org.
