WIT Girls Job Shadow Day Camp
What is the WIT Girls Job Shadow Day Camp? Teenage girls are provided with a glimpse of the day-to-day excitement of a career in technology. For one week in the summer, rising 9th graders and high school girls are paired with various technology-centered organizations to experience the possibilities of a career in a STEAM field. Volunteers at these organizations share their education and career path with the girls, giving them an idea of what it takes to succeed.
This year’s Job Shadow attendees should come prepared to have a fun, engaging, and interactive experience with some of Atlanta’s Best and Brightest leaders in technology. Companies participating include EarthLinkEquifaxGreenlightSecureworksState Farm, and The Weather Company!
In the last few years, we have had presentations on product management, artificial intelligence, software development, design thinking, and even coding. You’ll even get a chance to hear from top tech executives who will share their career stories and provide key advice.

Verizon Innovative Learning (VIL) STEM Ac...
Greetings from Morehouse College!  My name is Brian Lawrence, Ph.D. and as Director, it is my honor to extend an invitation to your students to apply to attend the Verizon Innovative Learning (VIL) STEM Achievers program this summer.  VIL STEM Achievers is a free, three-week immersive summer camp for middle-school students / rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders (current 5th through 7th graders) who attend schools located in the metro Atlanta area, including yours, where our campers get hands-on experience with a myriad of tools used in technology research, industry, and innovation.  Among these will be augmented reality/virtual reality (AR/VR), 3-D modeling, rendering, and printing, first person view technology employed by unmanned ground and aerial vehicles, and the Metaverse.  Listed below are a few key details pertaining to this summer’s program:
 
PROGRAM DATES: Monday, June 10, 2024, through Friday, June 28, 2024
TIME: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. daily (Monday – Friday)
PLACE: Morehouse College – 830 Westview Drive, S.W., Atlanta, GA 30314

At the local level, on-going training sessions are offered to all principals in order to support the work of aligning, refining, monitoring, and evaluating the continuous improvement efforts of each individual school.
